Variable dimensions.

Materials: plaster, wood, light, parachute, black paint.

This installation was in my head a lot of years ago but I didn´t find the context to make it. To have lived in NYC and to be able contemplate the Big Apple from the edge of Long Island City reminded me the molds of refresh inverted bottles competing in height between themselves, , as if they were the newyorker skyline with the backlighting of the skyscrapers

The north-Americans were able to export their culture very well, especially through the cinema, becoming an almost unrivaled cultural referent in terms of diffusion. "The Gift" talks about this model of exportation: the Big Apple as economic and social reference, the Big Apple as a project that can be multiplied and to install in all countries, never mind the habits of the locals.
